Probably the most beautiful retail complex in Singapore, I believe that Jewel Changi is one of Singapore's prized gems. But what makes it so beautiful? It's home to the world’s tallest 40m indoor waterfall, a lush indoor forest and the first Pokemon Centre outside of Japan.
On top of all that, it’s the new home for over 100 restaurants — with a number of established international eateries making their debut. With that many choices for lunch or dinner, this begs the ultimate question. What to eat?
Here are some of our favourite restaurants to sink your teeth in at Jewel Changi Airport (in no particular order):

Welcome back, A&W. Fans of the original A&W Root Beer ($2.90, float $3.50), Coney Dog ($8.90 combo), and waffles ($7.90) no longer have to slog through the causeway traffic jam for a nostalgia trip down memory lane.
The new A&W Jewel has plenty of new stuff on the menu too, like the Cream Cheese Beef/Chicken Burger ($10.90 combo), and Chubby Chicken Sandwich ($8.90 combo) to go with the classic Curly Fries ($3.60), Chicken Tenders ($3.60) or Onion Rings ($3.90) Best of all, it’s 24 hours so you can satisfy your Root Beer cravings anytime.

Beauty in the Pot
There’s only one place in Jewel to satisfy your hotpot cravings. Beauty in the Pot serves its popular Signature Beauty Collagen Broth, as well as other soup bases like the Signature Spicy Nourishing Soup (Pork Bone Soup), Herbal Drunken Chicken Broth, and Cooling Coconut Broth. Pick between a single, twin or quarter pot to try as many soup bases as possible.
There’s plenty of fresh meat and seafood to choose from, but the must-try ones are the Homemade Fish Tofu, Fried Beancurd and Ebiko Prawn Paste. All the meatballs, meat paste and dumplings are handmade too.

Chen’s Mapo Tofu
Taste Sichuan flavours at Chen’s Mapo Tofu, the sister establishment to the Michelin-starred Shisen Hanten at Mandarin Oriental. Chen Kentaro whips up a new take on Sichuan cuisine, like the star dish Chen’s Mapo Don, Chen’s family recipe Mapo Tofu on top of Japanese rice.
Other dishes to try include the Dan Dan Mien and Chen’s Nasu Don (minced meat and eggplant in pickled chilli sauce, served on rice). For something a little less spicy, give the Tonpolo Don and Kaisen Katayaki a try. The former is braised pork belly on rice, and the latter is Chen’s signature crispy noodle with seafood.

Lee Wee & Brothers are known for their local delights like nasi lemak and otah, but their venture in Jewel focuses on reimagining those humble classics. Think Pink Salmon Otah, Scallop Otah, Cream Cheese & Corn Otah, and Petai & Anchovy Otah, just to name a few.
Also on the menu in this 12-seater kiosk are O’TAH Fries, with a lime and herb mayonnaise dip, the Ben’s Burger made with a large mackerel fish patty and sandwiched between fluffy charcoal buns, as well as the Pesto Salmon Nasi Lemak.

The 5-time 1 Michelin Star Kam’s Roast (awarded to it’s flagship Hong Kong outlet) opens only its second Singapore restaurant in Jewel.
Like the Kam’s Roast spot in Pacific Plaza, the new outlet continues to serve the same signature Cantonese Roast Duck you can find in Hong Kong. Besides this succulent dish, there’s also their unique Taro BBQ Char Siew Pork, “Lo Sui” Duck and Suckling Pig. Check out our review of Kam’s Roast Pacific Plaza here.

Don’t mistake this for just any other Chinese restaurant. Yun Nans, or it’s original name Yun Hai Yao (云海肴) has over 150 restaurants in China, making it the biggest chain of Yunnan-cuisine restaurants in the world (even if they are all in one country). Lucky for us, Jewel Singapore is the chain’s first international venture.
The first thing you should order here is the Steam Pot Chicken Soup ($23.90). This iconic dish is brewed without water and uses a special breed of black feet chickens. The result is a nourishing clear soup that’s not greasy. The leftover chicken can be tossed with a peppercorn chilli mix served on the side. One pot, two ways of cooking.
Also try the Grilled Seabass with Lemongrass ($22.90), marinated with 6 types of spices and a chilli seasoning mix and the Stir Fried Wild Porcini Mushroom with Dried Chiilies ($24.90). Exclusive to Singapore is the the Truffle Rice Noodles in Prawn Broth ($13.90). Our full review is coming soon.

Tim Ho Wan
With 46 restaurants around world, it’s a surprise to hear that Singapore’s 10th Tim Ho Wan restaurant is it’s first inside an airport.
Besides it’s most sought-after dishes like the Baked BBQ Pork Buns ($5.80), BBQ Pork Rice Rolls ($5.50), and Pan-fried Radish Cake ($5.00), the Jewel outlet also has a dish available nowhere else. The exclusive Hong Kong Wonton Mee uses specially imported noodles from Hong Kong, served with handmade pork and prawn filling wontons.

Savour the flavours of Latin American food at TONITO, the “younger brother” of Peruvian restaurant TONO at Duo Galleria in Fraser St. Helmed by TONO’s founder Chef Daniel Chavez, TONITO serves food from Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina and more.
While there’s the usual Mexican fare like Tacos and Quesadillas, there’s plenty of choices for the adventurous. Try the Peruvian Anticuchos (marinated grilled skewers) and Latino sandwiches like the Argentina Choripan. Plus, you get a great view of the Jewel Rain Vortex as you dine.

Shake Shack finally makes its Southeast Asia debut as probably the most hyped restaurant to open its doors in Jewel. Newbies should try the ShackBurger, Shack-cago Dog and frozen custards, if you managed to survive the queue just to get in.
Don’t forget to save some space for the Singapore-only menu items like the Pandan Shake, and the Jewela Melaka Concrete, which uses chocolate from local chocolate maker Lemuel. Another local patisserie, Plain Vanilla, supplies brownies for the Shack Attack Concrete (one of their signature frozen custards).

JUMBO Seafood, home to arguably one of the best Singapore Chilli Crab opens its 6th outlet in Jewel so you can take your overseas friends for dinner as soon as they arrive. Besides the Chilli Crab with golden Deep Fried Mini Buns, there’s the Signature Black Pepper Crab, Golden Salted Egg Prawns and Crispy Fried Baby Squid to share.
For couples or a big party who want to sample as many things off the menu as possible, JUMBO Seafood also offers smaller portions.

The extension of your neighbourhood Swensen’s differs by serving exclusive Certified Angus Beef Ribeye and Short Ribs. The Charbroiled Certified Angus Beef Short Ribs ($49.90) is charbroiled and served with garlic bulb, potato gratin, Mesclun salad and beef jus, while the premium cut Charbroiled Certified Angus Beef Ribeye Steak ($89.90) comes with the same sides along with béarnaise sauce. The latter makes a great sharing dish.
As for Earle Swensen’s speciality desserts, the Jewel outlet sells exclusive flavours for its “Yesterday Once More” range — Yam, Cempedak, Bandung and Nyonya Kaya. Grab a scoop ($6.10) in a cone, cup, wafer, or an old-school colourful lotee (bread).

Sama Sama is the brainchild of Indonesian Soup House Tok-Tok, which focuses on Indonesian casual dining fare like soup dishes and street snacks. At Sama-Sama, try the Lombok style spicy grilled whole chicken Ayam Bakar Taliwang, that comes along with kangkung and homemade sambal on the side.
Other dishes to sample include the Gado Gado, Sata Kambing Betawi and Kakap Merah Bakar Jmbaran.

Paradise Classic is one of Singapore’s favourite restaurants, evident by the long queues of families waiting for dinner. Their latest Jewel outlet serves the same Nanyang-style cuisine like their trademark Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Seafood Broth Seafood Pot. 6 plus hours of boiling pork bone, Hua Diao wine sesame sauce and bean paste results in a hearty pot of soup, filled with prawns, crabs, squid and group fish.
Additionally, you can’t go wrong with the Espresso Pork Ribs, Stewed Silver Needle Noodle with Salted Fish and Stewed Pork Belly served with Lotus Bun.

Burger & Lobster
The top floor of Jewel is home to a sprawling park and London’s Burger & Lobster. Expect to to order its famous lobster rolls, Atlantic lobsters and premium burgers while enjoying a clear view of the Rain Vortex at its peak.
Expect to see a Singapore exclusive dish (or two) to grace the menu, much like it sister outlet in Genting Skyavenue. Burger & Lobster Jewel Singapore is opening soon.

Rumours Bar & Grill
Rumours Bar & Grill from Bali is the perfect laid-back, chill out spot to sip on cocktails and enjoy the evening at Jewel. This is their second Singapore outlet after Holland Village. Order the Blowing Smoke cocktail — rum, elderflower liquor and fresh lemon juice with a waft of cinnamon aroma. It’s just one of the many cocktails and mocktails served here.
Whatever misconceptions you have about bar food, doesn’t apply at Rumours. The star dish is the Mixed Platter ($59.80), consisting of beef tenderloin, lamb, chicken served with fat chips and roasted veggie.
