Wing Wing, Pavilion KL

Earlier this year, we stumbled upon a fried chicken joint called Wing Wing in London (click here to our review) and we absolutely loved it!

It's not your regular ol' fried chicken restaurant as the menu is inspired by the famous Korean chimaek (which literally means fried chicken and beer). Korean-style fried chicken has been gaining traction in Malaysia recently with its crispy batter accompanied by an array of specialty sauces that go tremendously well with the fried chicken.

I'm happy to report that Wing Wing has expanded its operations in Malaysia and the've just opened their first flagship store outside of the UK in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A sensational news as I don't have to go all the way to London to satisfy my cravings for awesome fried chicken!

Signature Wings

Signature Drumsticks

Wing Wing is famous for their Signature Wings and Drumsticks. The offering is pretty simple:

Step 1: Choose from 3 different flavours - soy-garlic, spicy or liquorice.

Step 2: Decide if you want Wings or Drumsticks.

If you're going for Wings, you can choose between 6, 12 or 18 pieces (RM15.90, RM27.90 and RM40.90 respectively) and if you want drumsticks, you can choose between 3, 6 or 9 pieces (RM15.90, RM29.90 and RM43.90 respectively).

Personally, my 2 best flavours are soy-garlic and spicy as I'm used to the more traditional-styled fried chicken flavours that familiar with. However, you won't go wrong with any of the flavours above.

As expected, the chicken skin is absolutely crispy to the bite while the meat is juicy on the inside. It is one of the best friend chicken we've tried this year, hands down.

Masterchef's Chicken Burger (RM15.90)

If burgers are your thing, you definitely need to try their signature Masterchef's Chicken Burger. You get the same delicious fried chicken in a form of a burger. Topped with yummy Korean-style vegetables to give you a hearty and satisfying meal.

Chicken Katsu Bao (RM15.90)

And if you love baos, this is a must try. Perfectly fried chicken katsu strips wrapped in fried bao and stuffed with Kimchi salad. Need I say more?

Katsu Chicken Curry x Sumo Rice (RM16.90)

On top of fried chicken and burgers, Wing Wing also serves up delicious rice box sets for you rice lovers out there. They kept it simple with their rendition of the Katsu Chicken Curry rice box meal which was one of my favourites (because I love rice to the moon and back). While the curry is mildly spicy, it is very fragrant and delicious.

Nutella Mars Sundae (5.30)

And of course, the best way to finish off your meal is to have some yummy dessert. Fortunately, Wing Wing has you covered!

Pictured above is the Nutella Mars Sundae and it is absolutely amazing. Being a Nutella fan that I am, this is a Godsent for us sweet tooth out there. It goes really well with the Mars chocolate bars and vanilla ice cream. Perfect for a hot sunny day.

Banana Caramel Hot Bao Nuts (RM7.30)

Finally, if you want to go all out with your dessert, I recommend the Banana Caramel Hot Bao Nuts. It is essentially sweet banana caramel filling stuffed in fried hot bao; a perfect harmony between sweet and savory. Warning: this is actually a very filling dessert to consume especially after a hearty meal so I suggest to share this with someone else, unless you're like me who gobble up everything in sight.

Overall, my experience with Wing Wing's first Malaysian outlet @ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is a memorable one. They've certainly kept their quality and standards the same as their flagship store in the UK. A must try for all you fried chicken lovers out there.
