Montigo Resorts Seminyak Spa

When you imagine getting a massage at a resort or hotel, you don’t expect a treatment with such authenticity of Montigo Resorts, Seminyak’s Spa.

Firstly, keeping to its Balinese roots, the spa has put its focus on Balinese elements in its interior as well as traditional Balinese treatments.

What I like about the spa is that they make their own oils for treatment, which means they know exactly what is going into the products used on your skin. You can ask the knowledgeable staff anything about their products and they’re ready to answer.

There are 8 treatment rooms here - 4 single rooms and 4 couple rooms that come with attached bathrooms. There is also a room specially for Thai massages and a room for foot reflexology.

For us, we decided to try the Balinese massage for 60 mins and it isn’t your typical massage where you go in, undress and just get massaged. The therapist takes you on a journey of breathing exercises, hitting the right pressure points and ensuring your comfort at every point of the treatment.

Each therapist is an expert in their technique and is careful in taking your pain points into consideration. At the end of the treatment, I felt like many of the aches I experienced before had dissipated and I was left very relaxed.

That night, I slept soundly and woke up the next day feeling rejuvenated.
