Kampachi, Pavilion KL

Kampachi at Pavilion KL has been around for years now and it is surprising that I have not been there till just recently. We were at Pavilion KL to check out their gorgeous Raya set up this year and decided to pop by Kampachi for a meal upon their invitation.

Of course, being a Japanese restaurant, one of the things they are most famous for is their sashimi. But since not many of us were eating sashimi that day, we decided to order the chirashi don (RM80). True to its promise, the assorted raw fish was fresh and delicious.

We also had to try the Kampachi salad (RM45). This is definitely one of the highlights there because of the crispy salmon skin. It was a refreshing salad and a great way to kickstart the meal.

One of my favourite dishes to order at a restaurant is the sukiyaki (RM89 for Australian beef). This is a hearty soup dish that comes with a balanced mix of meats and vegetables to make it a perfect filling meal for one.

We also got to try their tori katsu don (RM50). I have to say, this is one of the highlights of the meal too. Kampachi does their donburi very well. (We also had a curry katsu don to do and that was super delicious too!).

My ultimate favourite dish of the day has to be the gyu teriyaki (RM72) which is their grilled beef sirloin - a perfect medium rare and super delicious!

Another meat dish that I recommend trying is the yakitori (RM20). It was perfect since there were 3 of us and the portion comes with 3 skewers.

Overall, the experience at Kampachi was great. Service was good - the food came really quickly and everything was cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a meal that won’t disappoint, Kampachi is the best place to visit.

So add it to your list of places to buka puasa this Ramadan season!
