Ebisu @ Pavilion Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

In the middle of bustling Kuala Lumpur, right at the centre of the Golden Triangle and amidst the crowd of shoppers and tourists, discover one of the most luxurious spots to have Japanese cuisine in the city. Up on the 8th floor of the Pavilion Hotel lies Ebisu, a high-end and elegant Japanese restaurant with beautiful interior and even better food. We were invited for lunch, and here’s what we have to say about it.

Note: You can park your vehicles in the hotel car park however you can also navigate your way to Ebisu through the Pavilion shopping mall. There's a public elevator situated in the high-end wing of the mall that will take you to the 8th floor of the hotel.

Upon entering this restaurant, with spaces that present elements of minimal East Asian textures and design, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and smiles on every face you walk by! What a wonderful greeting! While glancing at the menu, you’ll notice all kinds of inviting options of traditional Japanese dishes.

Maguro Tataki Salad (RM48)

We were able to explore an array of dishes, from the a lightly grilled Tuna Belly salad as our appetisers, to the Moriawase Nanashu consisting of 7 different types of sashimi, to lightly battered Tempura of assorted vegetables and fresh prawns, to Teppan Sirloin consisting of grilled Australian Black Angus Sirloin steak cooked to medium rare perfection. Most of these dishes served were a display of Ebisu’s signature expertise, and we from what we were able to try, we were not at all disappointed by anything served right in front of us!

Unagi Maki (RM34/RM58)

California Maki (RM30/RM52)

Tempura Moriawase (RM62)

You could immediately understand that everything served was fresh too, like the sashimi. No fishy business here at a place with the highest of standards like Ebisu. The sashimi was expectedly very succulent and delicious! My favourite was the fresh tuna belly because it melted in your mouth!

Not forgetting some of their more unique signature dishes like their Dobin Mushi which is a clear broth consisting of prawn, fish and chicken, served in a porcelain teapot. That's one that's photo-worth eh!

Finally for dessert, we were served a sorbet, which comes in a flavour of your choice. I chose a citrus yuzu sorbet which was both sweet and sour, and very refreshing. The Yuzu dessert was the final touch to an incredible lunch experience.

If you’re looking for a stylish spot to impress your partner for an upcoming date, or to have a extravagant night out with your friends, consider Ebisu. This sophisticated restaurant will impress you with its service, atmosphere and amazing high quality Japanese cuisine.
