Chinese New Year @ Mitzo, Grand Park Orchard

Celebrate the beginning of an auspicious year of the rat with two of Mitzo's must-have Chinese New Year special – The Premium Abalone "Yu sheng" (S$158++ for up to 8 pax, S

$258++ for up to 14 pax) and Classic "Peng Cai" (S$298++ for a table of 4, S$588++ for a table of 8, and S$78++ per additional person).

Executive Chef Nicky Ng has prepared the Premium Abalone Yu Sheng with a generous portion of abalone and is surrounded by a colorful mix of greens, carrots, radish, red cabbage and an unique blend of sauce. Alternatively, Mitzo also offers a vegetarian-friendly option, Mitzo Fruit Yu Sheng (S$108++ for up to 8 pax, S$168++ for up to 14 pax), that consist of a refreshing combination of tropical fruits and vegetables.

The Classic Peng Cai was definitely the star of the Chinese New Year menu. This bountiful pot of premium ingredients had a myriad of flavours as each component are cooked individually with each having its own taste profile. The "Peng Cai" features braised "Si Chuan" Pork, Crispy Roasted Duck, Sha Cha Cod Fish, Truffle Scallop, Osmanthus Mayonnaise Prawns, assorted vegetables, fungus, with garlic and white pepper dried oysters.

Besides tossing Mitzo's delectable "Yu Sheng" and devouring into their meticulously crafted "Peng Cai", sip on Mitzo's creatively crafted cocktail, #888 by Head Bartender, Azlam Kadir. Available only from 6 January 2020 - 8 February 2020, this "Huat" cocktail is a beautiful concoction of Milagro Tequila, Campari, sweet vermouth that has been infused with longan and red dates, orange flower water, goji berry syrup and lemon juice, and lastly topped with ginger beer.

Mitzo has a wide variety of Chinese New Year set menus that caters for different number of pax and also vegetarian options which can be found here.

We had the opportunity to savour some of their dishes that will be offered for the Chinese New Year season. These items are highlights of the set menu which includes the Double-Boiled Conch Soup with Mushroom, Chicken, and Prosciutto di Parma Ham. Mains highlight include the Truffle Ee fu Noodles with fresh, sweet and buttery Scallops. Last but not least, we ended our meal with Chef Nicky's palate-pleasing Pineapple Sago Cream and Warm Yam "Nian Gao" Tart.

The Chinese New Year set menus will only be available from 6 January 2020 - 8 February 2020, In addition to that, there will only be two seatings with the first at 5.30pm and the second at 8pm on the eve of Lunar New Year (24th January 2020).
