Before you ask... Yes, they do have milkshakes because apparently, that's what brings all the boys there.

But it isn't just a place for the boys to hit. Its pies are a quick fix for lunch, especially for the working crowd in the Intermark. With limited food choices and most of them rather pricey, the Yard offers a deal that is quite irresistible. For only RM12.90, you can grab a pie with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. For the pies a la carte, it would cost RM8.90 - pretty reasonable considering its location.

Right now, the selection of pies range from vegetarian (broccoli, cauliflower and cheese) to two chicken options (chicken mushroom and chicken leek) and a lovely cottage pie that is very reminiscent of my childhood.

The pies are not very big and you would probably enjoy one as a light midday snack or a supplement to your lunch meal, depending on how big of an eater you are. But once paired with their shakes, it will serve as a great well-rounded lunch. Out of all the pies, the cottage pie (pictured below) is easily my favourite. They make it just the way my mom used to! And the mashed potato "crust" is the best way to fill up a hungry tummy.

Currently, the only dessert pies on their menu are the apple crumble pie and apple pie, which are not too sweet, giving you the real taste of the apple and the crust. It was really pleasant to have after trying the other pies. What I have to point out about the pies here is that everything tastes very homemade - which they are! The recipes come from the owner's mother.

Once you try the pies here, you would understand what I mean when I say it's got a very homely feel to it. It's the perfect comfort food to have while working! And if you don't want to take it away, you can actually have them right there at the seating area.

The shakes here at The Yard range from sinful to healthy. Choose from really milky milkshakes to fruity smoothies that pair beautifully with the pies. Who knew shakes would go well with pies, huh?

Personally, some of my favourites include the mint chocolate brownie shake (RM16.90) and the Martian (RM15.90). Some may be wondering why the shakes are a little bit on the pricier side. Well, according to the owner, Nazri, the shakes are made from premium ingredients and they only use the best, freshest stuff in the shakes. And once you take that first sip, you will truly understand what a good milkshake is!

Their fruity smoothies are also made with the freshest fruits and the SuperBerry (RM19.90) smoothie could be a meal on its own.

The shakes are easily packaged for you to take them to-go. The Yard is now slowly introducing their office delivery - so good news for you guys who work at The Intermark. You won't even need to leave your desk to get a sweet fix!
