Valentine's Day just passed us and even though I stopped subscribing to the capitalist holiday that it is, I still duly noted that my friends do find this one day over the rest of the days in the year "special". And I wanted to do something nice for them. So when I chanced upon Makaron by @ka.bakes on Instagram, I knew it would be the perfect gift to give out to my foodie friends for this holiday.

Erecca, the founder of the brand, is a humble home baker with all the makings of a passionate entrepreneur. She whips up the most perfect macarons I have seen and from the feedback (of 6 foodies), the macarons tasted absolutely heavenly. I myself got to try her chocolate, salted caramel, green tea, raspberry, thai milk tea, rose, sesame, coconut and earl grey flavours. Each and every flavour was perfect. No flavour was too sweet nor did any of it taste artificial in anyway.
