Review: Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar, Bangsar

I fell in love with Spanish food when I visited Mallorca and Barcelona late last year. Since then, I have not had Spanish food in fear of disappointment. Taking a leap with Mercat being the first Spanish place I've tried since coming back, I knew from the first bite that it was not a mistake. But it's a pity I couldn't try more dishes...

(I must note that the last good Spanish meal I had in Malaysia was in Langkawi - Tapaz.)

The facade of the restaurant, located just opposite Bangsar Village II (outside Wallis and Furla).

The beautifully designed menu.

Watermelon juice (RM14)

Roasted eggplant with honey, pine nuts and mostillo reduction (RM29)

Patatas bravas with garlic aioli and spring onion (RM22)

Calamari with goat cheese and tomato vinaigrette (RM32)

Flourless chocolate cake with cream cheese and mixed berry sauce (RM24)

The bill comes in a really cute sardine can!

Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar

Bangsar S1G, Jalan Telawi 3
