We recently dropped by the newly revamped Sand Bar at Siloso Beach, Sentosa. You won’t be able to miss it as it’s the first stop along the Siloso Beach stretch plus it is pretty eye-catching with its bright turquoise facade.
The beachside resto-bar is made up of three main areas. One is a casual al fresco dining area with benches for those who want to be close to the water but remain out of the sun. There is also a section with beanbags for those who want to be up close to the water and beach activities. And there is the Oasis - for those who want their privacy but also can’t get enough of sun, sand and sea.
Food-wise, Sand Bar offers an array of incredibly affordable meals, starting from only $5 for sides and $10 for mains. We tried their beef brisket pizza ($18), which is a hearty meal that easily feeds two. I particularly enjoyed the wholesome taste of the brisket mixed into the richness of the cheese and to top it off, the thin crust pizza on its own is a delicious base.
They also do their "mini" burgers very well and we definitely recommend trying their prawn, ham and cheese burgers ($16 for two). But fair warning: the mini burgers are not mini at all! They're actually quite sizeable and almost full-sized!
Another dish that we would highly recommend trying is their smoked pork belly ($15), which comes with oven baked wedges and a side salad. The pork belly was beautifully marinated and the meat just melts in your mouth!
Finally, we capped off the meal with a banana french toast ($10). This is a real sweet treat to have in the hot Singapore heat. We loved how soft the bread was and it paired so well with the caramelised bananas and ice cream. A must-try for sure!
We also recommend you accompany your meal with one of Sand Bar’s classic granita drinks. We tried the Green Apple granita ($10) which was a delightful and refreshing burst of frothy green apple flavour. We can see why these drinks are popular here.
A plus point here is that the open kitchen concept allows for you to watch as your pizzas are crafted and cooked in the brick oven and since this is an open air dining setting you don’t have to worry about the smell getting into your clothes or hair. What a perfect setup!
Our overall dining experience at Sand Bar was super fun and we will definitely be back the next time we're in Sentosa!
