Positano Risto, a halal Italian restaurant opened its doors in November of 2017 in Singapore and built a solid reputation amongst the local and muslim community. Almost a year later the owners are confident in opening their first ever international outlet in Malaysia on the 9th of December 2018 at Publika Shopping Mall.
Here are some of the Signature dishes that we tasted in Singapore which will be available at the Publika outlet.
We started with a Super Supreme Calzone which is one of their Roma style thin crust homemade pizzas. The perfectly cooked dough was filled with mushrooms, pastrami, mozzarella, turkey ham, pepperoni strips and topped with a generous portion of burrata and parmesan cheese. This was certainly delicious and we kept on going back for more.
We moved on to the Whole Boston Fettuccini tossed in a lobster bisque sauce. The lobster was served fresh and the presentation was outstanding. However the essence of this dish, which was the lobster bisque sauce, could have been a little creamier and the lobster a little less overpowering.
Perhaps a reason for this could be that there was a cooking technique left out in the mise en place for this dish, which is deglazing the pan with a sherry or brandy before extracting the juices out of the lobster. Understandable as this is a halal establishment.
Next, we were served the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli, which was cooked to perfection -- a solid vegetarian option on the menu. This is not part of the signature dishes but definitely worth giving it a go especially if you're dining with vegetarians. It's not often we find good vegetarian options at an Italian restaurant, so we're pleased to see this here.
The Oreo Lava Stack was a good way to end the night topped with a chocolate and caramel sauce. It was definitely rich and would have been even better if it was balanced out with a scoop of ice cream.
For drinks, we got to sample a couple of the restaurant's signature drinks. One of it was the Sky Walker Mocktail, which was perfectly refreshing on a hot summer's night! If you are a blueberry lover, this will certainly tickle your tastebuds.
One of the other drinks we got to try was their milkshake. Named The Godfather, it was a sinful blend of nutella and vanilla ice cream, topped with a ferrero rocher. This was really delicious, and the best way to end a satisfying meal.
Overall, we believe Positano is set to do very well in Malaysia, due to the demand of authentic Halal restaurants and Publika is a great place to kick start this venture with an alfresco seating area. It is going to be so perfect for functions and gatherings for family and friends. So be sure to head on over and check it out!
