High tea is no longer only accessible to the ladies of leisure because it's available through plenty of cafes and tea rooms nowadays. In Bangkok, you don't have to search high and low for it because Chan & Yupa Tearoom will pop up on Instagram for its gorgeous tea sets and ambience.
I'll bet people have weddings here because it's such a breathtaking venue in the middle of Asok that makes you feel like you've been transported to a whole different world. Save for the occasional motorcycle zooming past, you could almost forget you're in Bangkok when sitting in the glasshouse looking out into a maze of shrubbery.
The interior matches the exterior, in which you feel like you're living in a different era or locale. The decor is very English with plenty of floral print and stuff you could probably find in Great Aunt Gertrude's parlour *said in a haughty English accent*.
If you come here in the mid afternoon on a weekday, you'll pretty much have the whole place to yourself.
I see this place as one of those spots you'd have a really nice hen's day or a birthday brunch.
This cafe would be any Instagrammer's fantasy, as you can see, I did not hesitate to stop and take as many photos as I possibly could while Tim slinked off into the comforts of the air-conditioned glasshouse to grab a desperately needed iced coffee.
I hurried inside as soon as I could - the afternoon sun was beating down relentlessly and I just needed an iced drink. I wasn't disappointed with their iced coffees here at Chan & Yupa. Though they are a tearoom, it is evident that they wear many hats. They served us really great iced lattes and proceeded with serving us high tea.
They use Gryphon tea here and some of the most beautiful teaware. I loved the teas and the high tea set was perfect for three to share! We enjoyed their lovely, fresh scones, the sweet macarons and a whole selection of cakes and savoury treats.
