    Shots Cafe, Sunway

Did you know that just a short walk away from Sunway University is a shooting range? Yes guys, an actual shooting range with actual guns. The only thing is that the magazines and bullets are a little different than usual (for safety reasons), but still, real guns!

This would be a pretty cool way to de-stress during those crazy exam or assignment seasons.

And of course, you're bound to work up an appetite after all that shooting. Shots Cafe is located conveniently right below the shooting range. And trust me, as far as food in cafes go, this place is pretty good.

Plus, all ingredients here are Halal! So, everyone is welcome to feast here at the Shots Cafe!

Shots Cafe is pretty cozy and you don't need to be coming to shoot to eat here. This student-friendly place is quiet, has pretty fast wifi and power points around so you can do your assignments here over some great food.

Now let's get down to the food. Here's some stuff from their new and upcoming menu.

First off, we had some salad. The Portobello Salad comprises fresh greens, sweet cherry tomatoes and sliced juicy portobello mushrooms, all tossed in a tangy vinaigrette dressing.

I'm personally not a big fan of salmon, but the Norwegian Salmon Eggs Benedict is really fresh. Unlike most places that serve thawed frozen salmon, the ones here have never been frozen.

I thought the Seafood Aglio Olio was delightful. The prawns and clams were pretty fresh. A dish that didn't have a big "wow-factor" but will satisfy your cravings for a good aglio olio pasta.

The Green Curry Chicken Rice was undeniably my favourite dish here. I was told that the paste to make the green curry is imported all the way from Thailand, while Japanese rice is used instead of the typical jasmine rice. It really did make me believe for a a second that I was in Bangkok and having lunch there instead. A definite must try!

Hey vegetarians out there! Apart from the salad, there's even a veggie burger here for you. The Portobello Burger comes served with a huge grilled portobello mushroom as juicy patty along with wild rockets, bay spinach and red cheddar, all sandwiched between two English wholegrain muffins.

I'm tpyically not a fan of lamb but this Lamb Shoulder Steak was amazing. Whatever it is the meat was marinated in, it's absolutely amazing. Another one of my favourite dishes here and one that took my by surprise.

Cheese goes well with everything right? Here's the Chicken with Cheddar, a whole chicken leg grilled with ooey-gooey melted cheddar cheese on top. Mmmmm. Almost felt like a fondue with the amount of cheese that was on top on the chicken.

Next up, another cheese and meat pairing over here with the Red Eye Mozzarella. The mozzarella cheese that's melted all over the top of this beef steak is specially sourced and tasted just like what I used to have in the Netherlands. Just amazing. The beef was also really juicy and done just the way I like it!

If you're looking for some light bites here instead, try out their handmade curry puffs that come in four different flavours -- yam, potato, coconut and sardine. My personal favourite was the potato, but I thought the coconut one was pretty interesting too!

For dessert, cleanse your palatte with some gelato. Choices here are quite limited but the whichever flavour you pick, it surely will not disappoint. Our personal favourite was the dark chocolate flavour, not too sweet and super chocolatey.

Check out some of their mocktails here too! The Cherry in Love (left) is great if you're looking for something sweet and strong in flavour, while the Witch Apple (right) is a little tangy and more light. Whatever suits your mood on the day of your visit!
