If you are a Singaporean, or have been residing in Singapore for a long time, you probably would have heard of Bakerzin, a homegrown F&B establishment that has been in the industry since 1998. With five outlets located in each district, Bakerzin offers a delectable selection of savoury eats ranging from quick bites, homemade soups, healthy salads, hearty pastas, freshly-made sandwiches and wraps to Asian fare.
We went down to Bakerzin at Tai Seng and we absolutely loved the interior of this outlet! It is so spacious and comfortable. The smell of fresh artisan breads fills up the air in the cafe.
For starters, we had the Chef’s Signature Crab Cakes ($5). The fresh and flavoursome crab cakes were battered and deep fried giving it a really nice crisp. One thing I liked about this was that although it was deep fried, it wasn't too oily. I would totally recommend this as an appetiser.
Make your own pasta with Bakerzin’s DIY pasta (from $10.80, with pasta and one topping). The kitchen came up with a Ham Bacon Mushroom Aglio Olio for us, which definitely left us craving for more.
We tried a really interesting coffee based dish, the Coffee Pulled Pork Burger ($12.80). The pork shoulder went really well with the coffee BBQ sauce and was surprisingly not overpowering.
The Chiczella ($12) was another dish recommended by the chef and would be best for those who are looking for something to share. You can clearly see that a lot of love has been put into cooking this dish. The chicken thigh is first deep fried, then baked with cornflakes and coated with melted mozzarella cheese. It comes with a side of Asian cucumber salad and fries.

Finally, we tried some of their new desserts. We had the chance to try out their Chendol cake, which comes off a little sweet at first - something of an acquired taste. But props to Bakerzin for their innovative spirit!

But this next dessert was something we really loved. The Green Tea Yuzu Cake brings that slightly citrusy, refreshing and light flavour to the table. It is the perfect dessert to enjoy when you've just had a heavy meal.
Our overall experience at Bakzerin was indeed an awesome one. Drop by all their outlets to try out their latest dishes on the menu. We highly recommend playing around, and DIY-ing your own mixture of ingredients in your meal. Make sure to also check out their Cake of the Month, we are sure they will leave you surprised and happy.
