I've been hearing people rave a lot about Antoinette and have been wanting to give it a try.
Finally, I got the chance to try out Antoinette and lucky me, they have just launched their latest collection of Castella Cakes that are now available at Antoinette, Mandarin Gallery from 22nd July onwards!
Chef Pang is the mastermind behind these mouthwatering Castella Cakes, and he has even brought his own interpretation into them.
Let's have a look on the different flavours available below.
Vanilla - A classic vanilla flavoured Castella cake, which was really simple, smooth and light. Perfect for those of you who are a little less adventurous.
Earl Grey Cheese - While I thought the Earl Grey cake was amazing, I did not quite agree with the cheese on the top as a complimentary flavour. Perhaps, I could be wrong and it could be an acquired taste. I would go for this again, just without the cheese.
Ondeh-ondeh - I loved how the pandan flavour, along with the gula melaka bits and subtle hints of coconuts created a kampong feel to this cake once you take a bite into it. Just amazing!
Nutella - As a fellow chocoholic, this one takes the cake (pun intended!). Gotta love how the Nutella is just glazed on the top of the cake. I thought the Nutella was just right, such that it did not overpower the taste of the cake.
Again, hats off to Chef Pang and Antoinette for bringing us such lovely and delicious cakes. Do pop by Antoinette to get your hands on these babies anytime after 22 July, before it's too late!
