The holy month of Ramadhan is around the corner and everyone loves a good feast after a whole day of fasting. The Khazanah Sajian Desa Dinner Buffet at Link all day dining has around 150 varieties for you to savour. It is the ideal environment for family and friends to relax and enjoy one of Malaysia’s biggest traditional customs.
Walking into the restaurant we were serenaded with a poetic Ghazal performance that played traditional music throughout the night, which was very entertaining. It certainly set the atmosphere reflecting the rich Malay festive culture.
One of the main features of this buffet is the whole roasted lamb which is cooked to perfection and the meat is extremely tender. This is one of Chef Juzaili’s favourites who is the Executive Sous Chef of Pullman Bangsar (the guy in the white jacket).
We were really impressed with the stand-out Lemang display. Lemang is a traditional Malay dish cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick with glutinous rice and coconut milk. It was absolutely appetising.
One of the dishes that caught our eye was the Lamb Briyani. The lamb was cooked well together with all the spices and condiments. And if you love a good curry with your biryani, there is a wide selection of sauces and curries on the buffet to complement the dish.
The meat for the chicken shawarma was carved directly from the spit placed into a warm pita bread with tomatoes and veggies. This was really scrumptious and easy to eat.
Yes, your looking at a whole platter of fresh seafood thats waiting to be devoured. I would highly recommend getting the chef de partie to put some of these amazing prawns and mussles on the grill that has already been marinated in asian flavours. We kept on going back for more of those prawns.
After quite a heavy meal, we took awhile to decide what we loved best from the extensive dessert selection. It was certainly the traditional Malay sweets and some of them were kuih lapis, abok-abok and seri muka.
If you are a durian lover, you will be impressed with this buffet as you can get unlimited D24 durians throughout the night. This is something that stands out from the rest of the other hotel spreads during the Holy Month.
Not only is there actual durians but also a traditional Lezzeto mediterranean gelato stall with three flavours to choose from - D24 Durian, Mango and Vanilla. The texture and taste is quite different from an italian gelato, but still delicious.
Overall we had a good time savouring local delights. The Khazanah Sajian Desa Dinner buffet will be available from 25th May - 26 June 2017. Be sure to make a reservation before May 15 for an early bird price.
