Meet and Melt is a dessert cafe well known for their thick toasts and waffles. We decided to see what all the hype was about and try them out for ourselves.
We had the salted egg thick toast to start off, served with a scoop of salted egg ice cream. I couldn’t wait to cut into the centre of the toast and watch the salted egg filling ooze out! As great as it sounds and looks, its taste was however a little disappointing.
The toast was average, a little crispy on the outside and soft in the inside; the salted egg filling I felt was too watery and lacked flavour.
We also tried the Thai milk tea thick toast, which was served with a scoop of Thai milk tea flavoured ice cream. This tasted slightly better than the salted egg one, but I still found the filling’s consistency a little too rich (or jelak).
The red velvet waffles were cooked well – crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. But I couldn’t really taste the red velvet flavour in the waffles. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed the waffles.
Meet and Melts has pictures of their dishes all over the walls of their cafe, which I thought was a cute touch!
Looking at the pictures, it tempted us to order their chocolate shake. It looked like every sweet tooth’s dream! Ice blended chocolate shake topped with whipped cream, Kinder Bueno, chocolate wafers and more chocolate!
I wonder how they got everything to stay… As expected, the shake was really sweet and super chocolate-y.
The place is overall quite decent for a dessert place, but don't expect mindblowingly good stuff here.
