Strangers' Reunion, Kampong Bahru
Strangers' reunion is no stranger to coffee aficionados and brunch enthusiast alike, with their coffee brewed by award-winning barista champions and the outlet being one of Singaporeans favourite go-to brunch spot.
Recently, the team at Strangers' Reunion has introduced a complete set of redefined brunch menu, in hopes to elevate and take the cafe dining scene to the next level. Each dish is meticulously crafted with an overflow of creativity juice, a burst of fresh flavours, with only top notched ingredients used. And best of all, it's available all day long.

Besides using quality ingredients, the team here also practises upcycling ingredients to prevent wastage, this is a way the team at Strangers Reunion feel challenged to create new, creative yet flavourful dishes. One of their upcycling dishes that they are proud to introduce is their Salmon Skin Chips ($11.90), which are essentially crispy deep fried salmon skins studded with goma (spinach) and accompanied with a few dollops of sesame aioli, avocado coulis, and coffee smoked salmon pureƩ.

The perfect way to kick off brunch is having something subtle to tingle your taste buds, such as the Snapper Ceviche ($13.90). The Snapper ceviche is fairly light and refreshing as it consists of a few pieces of firmly sliced raw snappers, which are marinated in lime juice, creamy avocado, aromatic cilantro, red onions, a hint of shaved fennel, and pieces of freshly sliced cucumber for an added crunch factor.

Besides that, the Roasted Cauliflower ($14.50) makes an excellent starter to share. The cauliflower is prepared two ways with it being charred slightly for a dark roasted note, and then pickled in rice vinegar which are infused with bay leaves and black pepper. However,we found this dish a tad too sweet for our liking, and we'd suggest having this as a side instead and have it eaten with a main dish altogether.

Main course includes tender sous-vide Pan Roasted Chicken Thigh ($21.90), served with in-house made jerk sauce and paired along crunchy sweet corn, chopped red peppers and baked sweet potatoes, all tossed with a hint of fresh mint leaves and thyme.

Pork and Broccoli ($21.90), a staple ingredient used commonly in most household, yet it seems a little more intriguing here at Strangers' Reunion. The broccoli stem is cooked two-ways with having it first steamed till softened, and roasted slowly to extract its natural sweetness. With that, an underused cut of 'pork collar ends' are sous vide till tender and then roasted to complement this sweet and fibrous broccoli stem, all that complemented with a broccoli puree and burnt onions jus for an added depth of flavour and a tinge of sweetness.

Strangers Coffee Smoked Salmon on Toast ($18.90) is a crowd favourite. This dish uses strips of coffee infused salmon which are cured in house--smoked with coffee grounds from Strangers' Reunion and hickory wood, while a beautifully poached egg is aloft two slices of toasted sourdough bread which are smothered with an espresso infused creme fraiche, and served alongside a refreshing pumpkin salad.

Last but not least, a meal at Strangers' Reunion would not be complete without their latest addition of Buttermilk Waffles served with Hazelnut Praline and Almond Crumble ($14.50). This irresistible waffle has its signature classic waffle batter mixed together with their own in house made praline sauce, and cooked till golden brown. This fluffy and thick yet slightly crisp waffle is finally crowned with drizzles of velvety hazelnut sauce, a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream and sprinkles of toasted almond crumble, and finally garnished with chocolate shavings.
We do recommend to order a cup of their coffee to pair it together with their dessert waffles as it complements each other and is the perfect combination to end your meal here at Strangers' Reunion.
