A diverse menu that spans the entire continent of the Americas, at its hearth is an Asador, an Argentinian grill right in the middle of the restaurant, alluring your senses.

What better way to start off a meal than with an alcoholic beverage. It was a scorching hot day and Panamericana's Sangria ($18++) was the perfect remedy for that -- zesty, refreshing and super addictive.

It was matched perfectly with the savoury Empanadas ($8++ for a pair), a Spanish pastry that is akin to our local curry puffs. The home-made crust was incredibly fluffy and the smoky lamb filling was tender. This was definitely one of my favourites.

I absolutely adore Elotes, so I might have been a little bias when I tried Panamericana’s Corn ($12++). While I would have loved for it to be much more tangy and spicy, the chili citrus salt on the side offers a milder palate. I also loved the use of manchego cheese, adding a nice creaminess.

I was missing the chunky-ness of a regular Ceviche ($16++) but the flavours were there. Tantalisingly tangy and they didn’t hold back on the heat, those who are not too fond of spicy dishes should approach with caution.

Panamericana has a Booze and Juice selection and I must say, that’s a wonderful idea. Their Appleton Rum & Coconut Water and Don Julio Blanco Tequila & Pineapple (both $10++) were simple and delightful. I am not a big fan of coconut water, but with the added rum, it had a hint of a piña colada (without the piña) and I do love me a piña colada. The tequila and pineapple was really right up my alley, a great balance of smoky, tangy and bittersweet.

The Lamb ($45++) was a great example to show off the Asador. Lamb isn’t too high up my list of meats but I’d definitely make an exception for this. The aromatic rosemary and thyme adds to the smokiness. It was incredibly tender and savoury with a slight gameness.

But if you prefer the taste of the sea, the salt baked Trout ($40++) was simple and tasty. I could taste the freshness and the texture of the meat was luxurious.

For those less carnivorous, the British Columbia ($14++) was an interesting mix of fennel, apple, beetroot, dates, red cabbage and birdseed mix, giving it a lot of texture. It had a nice appetising tartiness with a bit of sweetness from the dates and apple.

The Burrata ($29++) was probably one of the best I’ve had. It was light yet creamy, while the grilled zucchini and salsa verde really balanced out the texture and flavours of the burrata.

And a special shout out to the Belize ($12++). A simple side of grilled snap peas topped with queso fresco that was astonishingly delicious.

Last two drinks of the day, Grown Up Fenta ($18++), as its name suggest, is an adult beverage, so don’t be expecting a sugary drink like the soda. Based on an aperol spritz, this drink is bubbly and refreshing, bittersweet, and the sprig of rosemary brings out the herbaceous undertones.

To say that I loved the Bulleit Bourbon & Apple ($10++) would be a grave understatement. I was so captivated, it completely slipped my mind to take a photo. The sweetness never overpowers the smoky spirit and vice versa. The best way I could describe it is like having an apple juice flavoured bourbon and I would absolutely be fine with having this for breakfast every morning. If you love bourbon like me, you should definitely give it a shot.

And what’s a meal without a sweet ending. The Churros ($12++) were really well done. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Dulce de Leche dip on the side, which is similar to caramel, was nice and sweet but I liked it just as much without the dip.

The Sticky Date Pudding ($10++) was just the right amount of sweetness. Don’t be fooled by its size, It was really dense and hearty. It also came out piping hot, which was a nice contrast to the cold vanilla ice cream.

It almost felt like a mini getaway dining at Panamericana. With its diverse menu and scenic views, treat yourself with a cocktail or two, and let Panamericana take you away where worries seems so far away.
