New Menu at Menya Kokoro, Suntec City Mall

Menya Kokoro is the largest authentic Maze-soba (dry ramen) restaurant chain that originated from Japan. This new year, Menya Kokoro have introduced five new hearty and delicious dishes into their menu, with two of them being a soup based ramen/soba.

One of the two new soup dishes is their Clear Kokoro Soba/Ramen Soup ($13.80), which has a nourishing chicken soup base and is boiled for hours to obtain a rich and flavourful broth. The Clear Kokoro Soba/Ramen Noodle soup is topped with a few slices of tender char siu, sliced bamboo shoots, Ajitsuke Tamago, seaweed and garnished with a handful of chopped spring onions and chives.

The second soup dish is dedicated to all you spicy-lovers. This bowl of Red Kokoro Soba/Ramen ($13.80) has a fiery soup which is made from a delicious chicken soup base, and topped with Kokoro's signature minced meat sauce, runny Ajitsuke Tamago, seaweed and spring onions.

In addition to two new soup dishes, Menya Kokoro has also added an egg-citing new Thai-Japanese fusion Maze-soba. The Tom Yum Maze-Soba ($13.80) is served with a medley of vegetables (We do recommend to remove the cut chillies if you can't take spicy food), a runny poached egg and Kokoro's signature meat sauce which is infused with Tom Yum, Kaffir lime leaves and Lemongrass, which is specially made in-house.

We loved that the soba has a really nice springy and chewy texture and that it soaked up the flavours from the meat sauce.

PS: Do make sure to finish up all your noodles, and if you have balance meat sauce at the bottom of your bowl, order a serving of white rice and mix the balance meat sauce altogether.

There is something for everyone at Menya Kokoro, and their appetising kids set ($9.80) comes with a serving of Maze-don or Maze-soba, lightly salted edamame, tempura prawns, fries, and a small dessert jelly for kids below 12 years old, so now your whole family can enjoy a wonderful meal together at Menya Kokoro.
