Morton's of Chicago, Singapore New Seasonal Menu
Morton's of Chicago, the Steakhouse is famed for it's generous portions of all-American classic steaks. Its reputation around the region for the quality of their food and service left me with very high expectations of this place.
Greeted with a beautiful ambiance and a generous glass of martini on my first visit here, I was anticipating a wonderful night ahead. Morton's will be introducing their new seasonal menu, which will be available from 19 April for a limited time only.

To start the night, we were served the Burrata, Grilled Asparagus & Baby Heirloom Tomato Salad ($32++). Cheese lover or not, this dish is perfect for all, as it does not have a strong "cheesy" smell nor aftertaste, allowing the cheese to complement the season's freshest produce.

The next dish, Nueske's Bacon Steak with Peach Bourbon Glaze ($20++) was what got me the most excited. Anyone who is familiar or who happens to be a hardcore bacon fan like me would know that Nueske's Bacon is often referred to the "Rolls Royce of bacon". The bacon allows both your sweet and savoury palates to be satisfied at the same time with the sweet bourbon glaze complimenting the fattiness and the saltiness of the steak. I was amazed at the large portions, which in my opinion has the best value among all the dishes in the seasonal menu.

Although Morton's is known as a steakhouse, seafood lovers are not left out. The Seared Cod with Romesco Sauce ($78++) is a Catalonian classic offered in the Spring menu. I was happy to enjoy the tenderness of the cod without having to worry about fish bones. There is nothing "fishy" about this dish, and the condiments consisting of leafy greens and tomatoes add the perfect tinge of sweetness to the dish.

Finally the moment of truth came when the 8oz American Wagyu Royal Ribeye Cap Steak ($112++) arrived at our table. As beef connoisseurs regards this as the most desirable cut of American Wagyu beef, the tender texture along with the subtle buttery aftertaste of the meat did not disappoint me. This was one of the best steaks I've eaten in my life.

The 7oz American Wagyu Filet Mignon with Fire Roasted Poblano Butter ($108++) makes the perfect dish for butter lovers. The meat however was not as tender compared to the ribeye and though served in a smaller portion, it was extremely filling. Personally, I preferred the Ribeye compared to the Filet Mignon.

Dinner is not complete without dessert. We were served Morton's Chocolate Layer Cake which was double the size of a regular cake and with whipped cream on the side. For someone with a sweet tooth, I really enjoyed the strong sweet aftertaste.
I am happy to conclude that Morton's did live up to the high expectations that I had initially, and the seamless service was very impressive. I am confident that the Seasonal Spring Menu items alongside their extensive menu would satisfy and make almost anyone come out full and happy.
