Mezze, Damansara Heights

One of the most popular and hip joints in Damansara Heights have just reopened offering a new and refreshed dining & drinking experience.
Mezze Bar & Bistro has been around for years serving up delicious cuisine with a charming ambience that regulars love to come to unwind and have a good time. They have stamped their mark over the years being one of the top wine and dine restaurants in Klang Valley and now, they have come back newer and better for 2018.
The Mezze Bistro at ground floor offers a delicious menu with eclectic flavours inspired by flavours around the world. They also have a comprehensive wine selection for you to pair your dinner with. Upstairs, the new and improved Mezze Lounge known for its chilled-out vibe and live jazz performances now boasts a new private dining room which is perfect for a party or get-together with your closest circles.
We popped by to sample some of their new offerings in their revamped menu but fret not as you still can order up your favourite Mezze classics as they are still made available to their loyal fans.

Cold Cut with Cheese
We started our meal with a sharing cheese platter served with yummy cold cuts that go extremely well with the cheese offerings. The platter came with a variety of cheese from different parts of the world (Italian & French to name a few).
They had my all-time favourite cheese, brie which unsurprisingly paired really well with the crackers that came with it.
The portion is good and suitable for sharing. A perfect way to start off the Mezze experience.

Tarte Flambe Pizza (RM42)
The Tarte Flambe Pizza is out of this world! It's thin crust gives it a nice crunch to the bite, just the way I like it. Made up of creme cheese, bacon, shallots and finished off with parsley, this is definitely a must try. Pairs really well with ice cold beer.

Raclette Cheese With Ham & Potato (RM42)
Out of everything I tried, this has got to be my favourite. Yummy French raclette cheese on fried potato served with ham. I'm already going crazy just thinking about it. So sinful but so right in every way possible.
The raclette and potato combination is a huge win. And if you're like me, you can have this at anytime of the day, even as your main. Trust me, you'll be amazed.

Josperized Aubergine With Sour Cream & Pomegranade (RM36)
If you're looking to mix things up with some greens, the Josperized Aubergine is a good choice. Being somebody who typically avoids eggplants like a plague, I find this rather tasty as it is charred to perfection and dressed with chili lime yoghurt, feta cheese and puff quinoa.
The charred eggplant gives it a whole different taste profile than regular eggplant dishes. The overall combination is rather interesting and definitely stands out.

Beef Pho Noodles
The Beef Pho Noodles is part of Mezze's revamped menu offerings. They kept it simple and traditional with this one. Rice noodles served in yummy beef broth. The bee was real soft; the chefs really know how to properly boil them to perfection.
Top it off the way you like it - bean sprouts, lime, chilli - get creative and go pho it.

Mentaiko Pasta (RM38)
If you know me, you'll know that I love ANYTHING and EVERYTHING creamy. And the Mentaiko Pasta is no exception.
The best way to describe this is a marriage between carbonara from the West and the Japanese mentaiko or pollock roe from the East. The mentaiko sauce is made with butter that gives it its creamy texture and lemon juice, tobiko and parsley that gives it a very unique taste. You really can't go wrong with this.

Mezze Burger (RM55)
This is not a new dish but definitely a fan favourite. The Mezze Burger is made up of 250g of freshly ground beef patty with BBQ pulled pork drizzled with their in-house whiskey BBQ sauce and mayonnaise. Finished with red cabbage, lettuce and shoe-string chips. Instant classic.

Chocolate Royale Cake (RM22)
To end our meal, we tried the Chocolate Royale Cake and boy was it good. The cake is made up of a layer of luxurious Valrhona mousse cake on top of a crunchy praline base. The combination of sweet Valrhona with crunchy praline is heavenly. It may look small but after a hearty meal, this will definitely leave your tummy more than satisfied.
If you're new to Mezze or have been coming here for years, I urge you to pop by and check out their new and revamped menu. It's a true gastronomic experience.
