Hidemasa 1st Anniversary Special
It's been a year since Hidemasa has opened in Singapore, serving quality Japanese cuisine at Mess Hall Sentosa. The restaurant will be celebrating their 1st birthday with two special menu courses available for only 3 days (23-25 October 2020).

Diners can select between two menus, at 198++ or $268++. Both menus slightly differ, but we were offered to sample dishes from both menus. Both full course menus are perfect for two and come paired with imported Hokkaido Fruit Wine. The waiter will patiently explain which fruit wine goes well with what dish for the best dining experience.

The Hokkaido Fruit Wine comes in either cherry or melon flavour. I tried the cherry one and found that the alcohol taste wasn't too overpowering, and it truly enhanced my dining experience.

First on the menu was the Sashimi Caesar Salad. While I'm not really a salad person, I did enjoy this dish. The different textures compliment each other very well.

Next was the Sashimi Salad, presented with the freshest cuts of sashimi. They've made this beautiful appetiser too elegant to eat!

It's a must when we dine at a Japanese restaurant to have their chawanmushi. Hidemasa's take on this classic is a Truffle Chawanmushi, with bits of truffle inside the chawanmushi.

Cooked right in front of our eyes was this appetising Sake YosenNabe, a dish comprising fresh seafood cooked in a sake broth.

We really enjoyed the Lobster topped with Cheese Tobiko. We were served a whole juicy lobster that was just bursting with favour. The cheese was torched right in front of us, so that it was warm and melted.

These A5 Miyazaki Wagyu beef pieces really do melt-in-your mouth! They cooked to perfection by the chef and was one of the highlights of the night. The sides served alongside this dish complemented the beef very well — we were speechless.

For the sushi course, the chef made three different kinds of sushi. These were the Chutoro Sushi (Med-Fatty Tuna), Sea Urchin Sushi and the Abalone sushi with abalone liver sauce.

This indulgent-looking dish is the Miyazaki Wagyu Don, which comprises sliced Wagyu beef on top of a bed of fragrant Japanese rice, and topped with crispy deep fried garlic chips.

To cap this Japanese feast, we tried their Anniversary dessert — Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream served with "tree branches and edible leaves". Although we were very full, the dessert blew us away.
Hidemasa's anniversary menu is highly recommended! As I mentioned, this menu will only be available for a limited time so do call the restaurant to make your reservations quickly.
