Greyhound Cafe, Mid Valley KL

Greyhound Cafe has landed in KL! Originally from Bangkok, Greyhound Cafe is famous in Thailand for mixing local traditional Thai dishes with a tad bit of modern flare.

There are currently two outlets in Malaysia, with one in Mid Valley and the other in Jalan Bukit Bintang.

We started off with their famous Fried Chicken Wings (RM18). This is not your average way of eating fried chicken wings as they had their wings split into half, thus making it more crunchy.

We had a fun experience with our main course, which is their signature Complicated Noodle (RM26), or basically a "D.I.Y" noodle kit.

The way to have this is to take a sheet or two of noodle, a spoonful of minced chicken(which was very flavourful), a teaspoon of green chilli sauce, a couple of coriander leaf and wrap it all up with a crisp green lettuce. The overall mixture of this, was just literally a burst of flavours -- salty, sour, spicy and sweet, all in one bite. It was definitely the most memorable dish we had.

Next up was a pretty innovative dish. Spaghetti stir fried with corned beef, fresh chillies and topped with fresh parsley (RM29). The combination was rather mesmerising however, we found this a tad dry and was the least favourite compared to the other dishes we had.

Basil chicken with rice (RM27) is a dish you will never miss out when dining in a Thai establishment. This happens to also be a popular street dish that is commonly found across Thailand. Sweet basil minced chicken, runny sunny side up, soup, fresh cut chilli, all these were served with a generous portion of white rice, making it a very comforting dish.

We enjoyed their Pad Thai (RM26) as it was the perfect level of spiciness, however, it was a little too sweet for our liking. This dish features fried Thai rice noodle with tamarind sauce and fresh shrimps served with crushed peanut and chilli flakes.

We ended the night here on a very sweet note with their D.I.Y waffle with a choice of three dipping sauces (RM31).

Here, we had three different flavoured waffles -- original, chocolate and red velvet -- and paired them with three other spreads -- blueberry, chocolate and peanut butter. The waffles were so fluffy and tasty that we could just eat it on its own.

We also had two delightful cake to satisfy our sweet tooth. The Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate cake (RM22) served with a dollop of Vanilla Cream was the perfect combination of devils food cake, chocolate fudge and sea salt caramel, piped with a generous amount of decadent caramel-ganache and a fresh strawberry.

And last but not least, a slice of Young Coconut Crepe Cake (RM22), featuring layers of crepe sheets sandwiched with shredded young coconut and freshly whipped cream.

Time to gather your friends and family and devour in some fine Thai-Western cuisine together at Greyhound cafe KL.
