Gourmet Couture Mid-Autumn Series @ Hilton Kuala Lumpur

This Mid-Autumn festival, gift your mooncakes in a luxurious package with the first ever collaboration between Hilton Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia's leading international fashion designer, Khoon Hooi.

Check out the exclusive and elegant mooncake gift box that is sleek and satchel shaped, enveloped in brocade fabric used in Khoon Hooi’s Fall collection. Choose between the limited-edition Midnight Bloom (RM198) or the collector’s edition Blossom series box (RM178).

Also available throughout the mid-autumn festival season is Executive Chinese Chef Lam Hock Chin's delicious set menu which consists of Chynna’s signature dishes, emphasising quality and presentation that are beautifully crafted at Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

Each dish was pleasantly surprising and we were amazed at how common everyday ingredients could taste so special and mouthwatering. The set menu is priced at RM168 nett per person.

We started our meal with an amazing mixed salad which consist of Kaori Bako (crabmeat), anchovies and crispy Peking duck.

Moving on to a braised lobster soup with Shanghai crab meat, scallion and vegetarian fins. No sharks were harmed in the making of this soup!

Perfectly wok-seared Hokkaido scallop, asparagus with X.O sauce.

Juicy honey glazed chicken cubes topped with crispy ginger.

Japanese Somen with preserved bean and miso broth.

Blended Avocado milk with vanilla ice cream. Trust me when I say, it definitely tastes better than it looks!

Last but not least, we were spoilt for choice with the mooncake that were offered here.

They had a wide selection of traditional to modern flavours such as, Baked White Lotus Paste (RM35), Baked Red bean Paste (RM35), Snow Skin Lotus Paste with Soft Custard Egg Yolk (RM35), Snow Skin with Pure Premium Musang King Durian (RM56) and even a Amaretto Lotus Paste with Blueberry Cheese Feuillantine (RM35).

Our personal favorite was the Signature Handcrafted Perfection, Dragon Blossom (RM38), which is this year’s signature snow-skin mooncake. A robust flavours of red dragon fruit and pineapple, augmented by a delightful texture from the buttery-crunch of macadamia nuts.

This mooncake is a delicious masterpiece, one worth sharing with your closest and dearest.
