Genki Sushi, Sunway Pyramid
Genki Sushi might look familiar to you. The yellow logo is striking and recognisable a mile away. Those who are veterans in the foodie scene will remember that the brand used to be in Malaysia many years back. Today, it is making its reentrance into the Malaysian food scene bigger, better and bolder!
Genki Sushi comes fully equipped with a digital menu (just scan the QR code at your table and it’ll pop up on your phone screen) and an impressive three track Kousoku Express that delivers food right to your seat. All you have to do is input your order via your phone and the “bullet train” will speedily deliver your food.
You’ll be impressed at how fast and efficient this service is - you’ll probably receive your food in ten minutes or less. The Kousoku Express is also an expert at delivering drinks. The only dish it doesn’t serve is hot soup (with good reason!).
We tried a variety of makis and bowls while here at Genki Sushi. And the first thing we noticed was how affordable the food is here. If you’re dining between two, you could probably keep your cost below RM20 per person.
We tried some of their sushis like their california maki (RM6.80) and tamago sushi with pollack roe (RM4.80). As well as heavier dishes like the “carbonara” udon (RM8.80) and tempura don (RM10.80). We even sampled the salmon sashimi (RM13.80) which was surprisingly fresh and delicious!
Overall, the dining experience at Genki Sushi is super fun and great for those who just want a simple, enjoyable meal.
