Festive Christmas Menu @ Les Bouchons, Robertson Quay


We had a wholesome and satisfying French dinner at Les Bouchon with their limited-time 3-course Christmas Menu ($76/pax) created specially by Executive Chef Mickaël Cornac for the festive season. This Christmas menu will be available at the popular Ann Siang Road and Robertson Quay outlets, as well as the newest Rochester outlet.

For starters enjoy Chef Mickaël’s French onion soup which requires a two-day preparation. It had a perfect balance of chicken and beef stock, with onions that are caramelized naturally with no addition of sugar. To finish, the soup is served with croutons and savory French Emmental cheese. Lucky for lactose intolerant individuals, a dairy-free version can be made upon request.

Another yet iconic French classic - Chicken liver pâté (mousse) is prepared with port wine, orange juice, and butter. It is then coated with sweet homemade fig jam and accompanied by slices of toast and fresh greens to balance out the richness of the chicken liver.

For the mains, devour into a juicy, melt-in-your-mouth Grilled Beef Wagyu Oyster Blade MB6/7, 300g with a 6/7 marbling score. To highlight its natural flavor, the wagyu is seasoned lightly with salt and pepper, and best eaten at the restaurant’s perfected ‘medium’ rare doneness. On a side note, we loved how the steak was served with sauces and unlimited fries, both made in-house too!

Another noteworthy dish to anticipate is the Grilled Australian Lamb Chop with Provence Herbs, which is also lightly seasoned with salt and pepper to enjoy the wonders and delicate texture when prepared medium-rare. Pairing this beautifully grilled lamb is a generous serving of in-house-made fries and a side of fresh mixed salad.

For a lighter option, diners can opt for the Jumbo Prawns Grilled with Extra Virgin Olive. A simple yet satisfying combination of fragrant jumbo black tiger prawns grilled with salt, pepper, and extra virgin olive oil, and served with a side of lemon wedge.

For desserts, diners can choose from a trio of either Homemade Valrhona Double Chocolate Lava Cake using a mix of Valrhona's Bahime 46% milk chocolate & Valrhona's Ariaga 66% dark chocolate, served with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream; My Christmas Tree: Coconut Mousse and Citrus Mint comprising moist chocolate sponge cake base, citrus cremeux, layers coconut mousse and lemon mint confit– crowned with yellow star-shaped chocolate; Or a show-stopping savoury option - Homemade Truffle Brie made up of mascarpone and truffle pâté served with fresh salad, dried fruits, and crackers.

Not forgetting to jazz up your Christmas feast with specially curated Christmas concoctions such as the tangy Xmas Breeze combining Malibu Rum, Fresh Lime Juice, Blackcurrant Syrup, and Soda Water; and Let It Snow which uses a mix of Baileys, Milo, and Milk Froth.
