Celebrate Oktoberfest at Brotzeit

If you’re the kind who needs an occasion to drink, start counting down the days to Oktoberfest! And what better way to celebrate everyone’s favourite German festival than at German bar and restaurant Brotzeit.

From now till 23 October 2018, head on over to Brotzeit to experience how the Germans celebrate Oktoberfest!

To most, Oktoberfest is all about beer and Brotzeit has been prepping for this season for months, with a beer especially for this season brewed since March. The Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier (from $16), also known as Märzenbier, has a full body with a slightly sweet finish and fine hoppy aroma.

And throughout the Oktoberfest period, you can purchase a Beer Pass at a discounted price when the traditional Oktoberfest song, “Ein Prosit” plays in-store. Lasting just 40 seconds, place your order while the song is playing to enjoy 10 x 0.5L of Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier with the Beer Pass at only $128 (Usual price $148).

In the spirit of Oktoberfest, share the love (and share the good food). Brotzeit will be introducing some sharing platters for this festive season, which are sure to get everyone digging in!

Let’s start off with the Oktoberfestplatte (Oktoberfest Platter – $138). A huge meat platter that’s great for 5-6 people. This massive platter features a crisp oven-roasted pork knuckle, juicy beer-infused Bavarian honey ribs, a succulent whole roasted chicken and a flavourful one meter smoked pork sausage. Served with golden-brown wedges and tangy sauerkraut on the side, this platter definitely won’t disappoint.

Don’t pass up on the ultimate Oktoberfest experience with the exclusive Gefüllter Schweinebauch mit Soβe (Stuffed Pork Belly – $69). Ideal for 3 people, this succulent pork belly is oven-roasted to perfection with a crisp crackling skin and is filled with a deliciously moist bread stuffing that’s packed full of flavour. But this is available only from 1-23 October.

Best accompanied with beer, check out some of the single serving dishes and beer nibbles too.

The Schweinsbraten (Roasted pork in dark beer sauce – $28) is the perfect dream for all pork lovers! A tender pork collar is slow roasted in dark beer sauce and served with sides of soft potato dumplings and sauerkraut.

If your focus is on the booze this Oktoberfest, Brotzeit also offers a little something to accompany your beer. Served on a premium "hot dog bun", traditionally-made Bavarian pretzel, the Gebratene Nürnberger Wurst in Brezn Stick (Grilled Nürnberger sausage – $15) comes with a side of crispy fries.

Brotzeit will be serving the Leberkäse-brötchen (Traditional meatloaf in Kaiser roll – $15) which is a meatloaf sandwich that comes with potato salad on the side. This dish is a common German street food that is popular for those feeling peckish after some beers.

For dessert, try out the German Bread Pudding, that comes with soft and warm bread pudding with a creamy and sweet vanilla sauce!

Apart from all the food and beer, join in the fun with everyone else as Brotzeit will be hosting some games and activities this Oktoberfest. Join in the traditional Oktoberfest games to win exclusive merchandise and those of you who are bold enough to come dressed in the traditional German outfits – Dirndl and Lederhosen – you’d get a free beer on the house (only on certain days)!

There are also activities for the young ones, such as face-painting and a gingerbread décor station!
