Amore Espresso Bar, TTDI

An art workshop cum café nestled in the heart of a serene and calm neighbourhood in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur, Amore Espresso Bar is the ideal spot to get your caffeine and sugar fix. However, do not be so quick to doubt their culinary skills as they do have some interesting main dishes, which to our surprise are pretty darn delicious.

Be careful not to miss out on this little gem as it is situated on the second floor right above D’Legends Bar.

We love how much greenery they’ve used inside their café and it makes us feel as if we are dining right in the middle of nature. Not to mention, the warm and friendly greeting from the service crew made us feel very welcomed.

We started off our meal here with a simple yet comforting spread of modern Asian delights.

We got ourselves a Kimchi Bulgogi rice bowl (RM15) and Japan chicken curry bowl (RM16) to start. We loved how perfectly runny the eggs were. Our definition of a perfectly cooked 63 degrees boiled egg. The egg definitely added a rich finishing touch which blends so well with the other components that was in the rice bowl.

Knowing how huge our appetites are, we couldn’t help resist but to order their weekend special which is the 'Nasi Lemak Rendang’ croissant (RM14). And thankfully (just the way it should be), the Rendang wasn't crispy.

The croissant on the other hand had a good crisp, and was warm and flakey. Amore Espresso Bar's interesting twist on our local favourite dish included a generous portion of Chicken Rendang, cucumber, anchovies, and egg. We were pretty amazed at how these local flavours paired so well with a rich laminated French pastry dough.

Unfortunately, they will not be serving this anymore as they are in the midst of expanding their menu.

However we are extremely excited for what is to come. Be prepared to see more varieties of rice bowl which will also cater to vegetarians. In addition to that, there will be classic Mexican dishes such as tacos, quesadillas, and more.

And last but not least, what is a hearty meal without desserts?

We had two Asian-Western fusion flavoured soft serve. A rose oolong and a blueberry lavender. The soft served ice cream here are rich, milky and creamy and that my friend, is exactly how soft serves is supposed to be served!

We definitely enjoyed the rose oolong (RM8) more compared to the lavender one (RM10).The rose oolong is a bit more subtle in taste compared to the lavender which has a more loud and exquisite taste profile. Perhaps you can pay them a visit and you can be the judge of which taste better.
