Alison Soup House CNY 2018 Set Menu With Fresh Yee Sang
One of my favourite seasons is almost here - CNY! As much as I love Christmas, I think my Chinese side takes over when it comes to seasonal foods. I love CNY food and can never get enough of it!
So when Alison Soup House announced that it was introducing a CNY menu, I was excited at the prospect of trying it.
First off, in every CNY menu there has to be a Yee Sang platter and Alison Soup House’s features only fresh ingredients. They have beetroot as one of the elements. I’m not normally a fan of beetroot. But in this case, I felt that it was a great addition that brought a depth of flavour to the entire dish. Yee Sang can be boring after you’ve tossed so many over the festive season, but Alison Soup House’s rendition is so refreshing and an utter delight on the palate.
Their CNY menus feature options for 2 pax, 4 pax and 6 pax. We got to try the 6 pax option, which included 3 types of soup (prosperity salmon soup, 7 treasures herbal soup and honey dates ABC soup), a serving of Hainanese chicken, a plate of pork satay, a bowl of pork slices, a generous portion of stir fried vegetables, 6 bowls of rice and bubur chacha for dessert. All of this for the reasonable price of RM198!
We added pie tee on top of the menu for 6. Alison Soup House’s pie tee is easily the best pie tee we’ve ever tried and their chilli sauce is absolutely to die for! We couldn’t get enough of it!
Apart from bubur chacha, another dessert option to try is their white fungus dessert. This one is lighter and more cooling compared to the bubur chacha. It’s also a lot healthier!
All in all, for 6, we felt the food was just right. There were two guys and four girls dining. We felt it was incredibly reasonable and it’s a great sharing portion for all.
The menu for 4 pax is RM138 while it costs RM68 for 2 pax.
If you’re thinking of somewhere a little different to try this CNY, we’d highly suggest Alison Soup House. After all, we did name them as one of our top favourite restaurants of 2017!
