The time for lemang, ketupat, rendang, serunding and kuah kacang is here! That's right, with Ramadan around the corner restaurants will be filled with the glorious scent of delicious Malay cuisine.

At Hilton Petaling Jaya, diners will be treated to diverse and unique flavours of Malaysian cuisine, ranging from classic kampung dishes, Arabian delights, and a bit of Indian, Chinese and continental fare as well.

With over 250 authentic dishes served, diners will certainly be spoilt for choice at Hilton's "Jom Makan" Ramadan buffet!

According to Executive Chef Ridzuan Malek, the dishes served are inspired by his mother's homecooking and childhood favourites. While the set up of the buffet is done in a food truck stall concept, almost giving it a "pasar Ramadan" (Ramadan market) feel.

Chef Ridzuan said the hope is for diners to walk down memory lane by bringing them on a cultural journey with authentic food! From crowd pleasers, to traditional Ramadan dishes, he is sure that there will be something for everyone.

The standout dish for me was the beef rendang, which was incredibly tender and flavourful. The sauce was not too dry, and had just the right amount of spice.

I also loved the lemang and ketupat, which pairs well with rendang, the variety of serunding, and kuah kacang.

The beef and chicken satay that were also popular among diners, a must-have with its accompanied peanut sauce.

The kambing golek was an impressive sight, served on a bed of briyani. It was smoky and tender, with good spice seasoning.

If you are willing to get your hands dirty, diners can feast on the crab curry, which was another popular dish at the buffet. Or a plate full of nasi kandar offerings!

Overall, Hilton served up a good selection of food with delicious Ramadan favourites to indulge in.
