Dusun Jogja Village Inn, Yogyakarta

When I was doing research on beautiful hotels in Yogyakarta, Dusun Jogja Village Inn was one of the top results. We were looking for a place that was close to the action but still quiet enough that we could enjoy a romantic getaway. In fact, I’d start off by saying this is a great hotel for couples to enjoy a retreat.

One of my favourite features here at Dusun Jogja Village Inn is definitely the pool. If it’s your first time coming to Yogyakarta, you’ll know that it’s incredibly cooling during some months of the year. It’s hard to predict which months, the locals told us, because when we went in August, it was supposed to be hot season. But the temperature everyday hovered between 21 to 26 degrees Celsius. It was the perfect temperature to enjoy getting a tan by the pool and going in for a cold dip afterward! And when we say cold, we mean it!

The next favourite feature of mine at the hotel were their wooden doors to the hotel rooms. I wouldn’t call this an Inn so much as a gorgeous boutique hotel that has all the modern amenities without compromising the integrity of its traditions.

We were given a room on the second floor, which gave us a nice balcony to look out of and lounge at. Again, with the wonderful weather Yogyakarta afforded us during our trip there, we enjoyed staying outdoors all the time!

Dusun Jogja Village Inn also gives off an all-inclusive, peaceful vibe. It has a meditation hut for all guests to enjoy. Regardless of religion, Dusun Jogja Village Inn supports everyone in using their meditation hut for quiet time.

I loved how the busy city of Yogyakarta seemed to disappear in the oasis of Dusun Jogja Village Inn. It was easy to forget that just outside the lush greenery and totally silent surroundings, there was another world. Even though there is just so much to see in Yogyakarta and the Central Java region, we (unashamedly) spent a lot of time at the hotel just because we enjoyed the vibe it provided.

If you're visiting Yogyakarta, I would definitely recommend staying here at Dusun Village Jogja Inn for an unforgettable and peaceful experience that you probably wouldn't find elsewhere in the busy city. Rates for Dusun Village Jogja Inn start from IDR550k onwards or about US$42 a night. I'd call that affordable and worth every penny!
