Lifetime Culinary Experience with MasterChef Asia's Jasbir Kaur @ History Con 2017

History Con 2017, the mega entertainment convention launched for the first time in Malaysia with an impressive showcase at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang early this August. As part of A+E Networks Asia, the leading factual and lifestyle entertainment network, we were invited to an exclusive close up experience hosted by MasterChef Asia's finalist Jasbir Kaur who was amongst the star-studded extravaganza lineups.

Jasbir Kaur hails all the way from Kuching, East Malaysia and we were privileged to watch her live demonstration as she unvieled her tips and tricks on making the perfect wrap which is simple enough to make at home for easy lunches.

We were even lucky enough to have a short chat with Jasbir. Check out what she has to say here.

Jasbir, also known as the Spice Queen, has the passion to influence the community around her to reignite the love of spices through her heritage of Indian Cuisine. Jasbir's journey through the MasterChef kitchen has been such a wonderful experience and her dreams of pushing boundaries, taking risks has certainly paid off as her food dream is becoming a reality.

"It is never too late to pursue your dream," encourages Jasbir, as she goes on to advice women to craft their love and passion into a business. Hence, her entrepreneurial risk of capitalising on her spices which developed into Spice Ranee -- a range of handpicked natural spices and chutneys available for sale.

Jasbir carefully made each and every roti dough and rolled it into the same sizes. She was very engaging with the crowd as she also gave the audience a chance to roll out the roti dough with her.

The glaze on this chicken wrap is the homemade passionfruit chutney by Spice Ranee which brings this humble dish together. Jasbir swears on this chutney and brings it in her handbag wherever she goes. This wrap was an explosion of flavours dancing in my mouth. Finally, a chef that is able to execute authentic northern Indian cuisine with so much love.

We also managed to sneak in a quick interview with her after her live demonstration (check it out here). You can clearly see how estatic Jasbir is, as her food dream is finally becoming a reality with the support of her family and we are stoked for her upcoming restaurant which is in the works of launching soon.

After the demonstration we got the opportunity to judge all the food trucks that offered all sorts of local and international delectable cuisines.

We ended our day by tasting food from over 12 food trucks and overall we had such a great time at History Con 2017. It was such a pleasure to be part of History's 10th anniversary celebration in Asia. If you missed out on any episodes on MasterChef, its time to turn on the television and head to the Lifetime channel which is also available in seven different languages.
