The high tea set from MAZE is served in a beautiful 'golden umbrella' which is befitting it's overall black and gold theme. Very elegant and unique, I must say. It has a good mix of tantalising savory and sweet pastry dishes. Instead of the traditional 'tier' arrangement, the items are all laid out flatly in front of you, easing up your dining experience.

The highlight of the set for me was clearly the Smoked Duck Canape and the Button Mushroom Stuffed With Prawn Cream Cheese. The duck was cooked to perfection and it was very tender to the bite. Being a mushroom lover, the button mushroom and prawn cream cheese combo was absolutely mind blowing.

I also enjoyed the Butter Croissant With Salted Egg Yolk Dip very much. The dish is as simple as it should be; warm crunchy croissant paired with tasty (and sinful!) salted egg dip. Trust me on this, you'll do your taste buds a favour.

As mentioned, the high tea set comes with 2 cups of tea of your choice. Choose your preferred tea leaf from either TWG or Jing tea brands. We went with the TWG English Breakfast Tea and TWG Alexandria to pair with our meal.

The Breakfast Tea is a staple among tea connoisseurs as it is known for its strong and full bodied undertone, perfect to give you that afternoon boost. The Alexandria on the other hand is a green tea variant with subtle scent of mint and Mediterranean corn flowers to give you a more floral experience.

Being a hybrid coffee parlour and gin bar, you also have the option to add on any one of MAZE Signature Gin Cocktails (RM26) to your high tea set. There aren't many places that can offer you an immense high tea experience with great ambiance as well as excellent cocktail and champagne pairing to graze your afternoon.
