Burger & Lobster, SkyAvenue Genting Highlands

Of course, when in Genting, one has to drop by the brand new Skyavenue to check out the glittering casino and the expansive F&B offerings. Burger & Lobster is one of the most well known brands to come to Skyavenue's impressive lineup of establishments.

Having been to the one in London, I definitely had my expectations set up but knowing that it would be a completely different experience, I braced myself for the worst. I shouldn't have because as of March this year, I have to say, the quality of the food you get here is still worth making the trip for.

The casual dining experience is enhanced by the fact that you are tasting the famed dishes from the comfort of your own country. The lobsters are so fresh, they're still swimming around in the little display aquariums at the entrance.

The queue can be pretty long no matter what time you decide to come during dinner service, so don't come here hangry, expecting quick seating and food. The restaurant is pretty huge, easily seating a couple hundred patrons at any given time. So the kitchen is already doing their best to fulfill orders as promptly as possible.

I'd recommend starting your meal off with a milkshake actually. This is easily the best milkshake I have ever tried - and yes, that includes the one at Shake Shack (I cannot believe I just admitted that). I ordered the Nutella gingerbread milkshake and upon first sip, was instantly hooked.

The first sip will give you a rush of that sweet Nutella flavour, followed by the gentle aftertaste of the gingerbread. I did not know what to expect when I ordered this drink but I was so glad I did! It honestly tasted like Christmas.

We actually didn't have to wait that long for our food to arrive considering we were only seated at 9:15pm. Portions here at Burger & Lobster are sizeable so you'll want to share if you're a small eater. Even though the name of the place is Burger & Lobster, we didn't quite bother with burgers. We just went straight for the lobster and since I have tried the lobster roll in London, I wanted to try the one here. We ordered a Original Lobster (RM138), rather reasonably priced considering the portion size and we decided to go with the lemon and garlic butter. The lobster was cooked perfectly and there is no question to its freshness.

I went with the Original Lobster Roll (RM138). The brioche was heavenly - with each bite oozing out the buttery goodness. I find this to be much more worth it than the lobster, to be honest, as you probably get a lot more meat in this dish (and without the effort of having to dig it out of the lobster, perfect for lazy eaters like myself). However, in terms of how it fared against the first time I tried Burger & Lobster in London? Surprisingly, it was not too far off except for the sauce. The sauce I had in London truly had the perfect lemon and garlic butter ratio. The one in Genting proved to be a little more citrusy and lacked the garlic flavour.

The other options for the lobster rolls are the chilli and the seven samurai versions, which I would not mind heading back to try in the near future. Burger & Lobster Level 1, SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting Open Mon-Thurs 11AM-10PM Fri from 11AM-12AM Sat from 8AM-12AM Sunday from 8AM-10PM
