The Spice Kitchen, Wisma SP Setia

Whenever I travel, I make sure to always try as many food places as possible (then hit the gym like a madwoman for weeks after returning from my trip).

The Spice Kitchen is one of those places that I tried because my friend recommended it. The irony is that she's this beautiful Indian girl who doesn't like Indian food except for this one - so obviously, I had to try it!

There she is, this beautiful Indian girl, with a heart of gold, browsing through the menu, not knowing that she will be featured here on my website. (Heh, sorry, boo)

The funny thing about Spice Kitchen is that they consider themselves Indian-Chinese-Thai. What a combination! But they make it work to their advantage and more.

We tried mostly Chinese and Indian dishes. So, we started off with a crispy chilli potatoes (RM14). Absolutely no regrets - the dish was as promised. It was crispy and spicy and made the perfect appetiser (more like appeteaser for what was coming after this).

I love masala tea (RM8), so we obviously had to get a couple of mugs for the rare chilly night in JB.

We also definitely had to order the vegetable briyani (RM15) to accompany our meaty dishes. The portion is actually big enough for 3-4 to share comfortably.

It was my first time trying palak paneer and I must say, dear god, why did I not have this earlier in my life? The creamy spinach and cheese dish is just what the doctor ordered as far as comfort food goes.

We also tried the chicken cheese tikka. Now, let me just say that we could not taste the cheese at all, but we were not complaining because the dish was perfect just the way it was. It went so well with the yogurt they gave us.

We also had a garlic naan to share, which was perfectly cooked and had a nice balance of garlic and butter.

We also ordered a mutton curry that was out of the world. The mutton was so tender and just melted in our mouths. We will definitely be coming back to this place the next time we're in town!
