Better Beer Festival 2016 adds in a unique twist: food pairing!

The Better Beer Festival returns this year with over 100 unique craft beers. This time, made tastier with a twist - beer-inspired foods! MyBeer and Tiffin bring you the two-day festival on the 7th & 8th October 2016, so cross out those dates on your calendar!

Happening in White Box & The Square in Publika, the fifth installment of the annual event boasts craft beers from all over the world – Australia, Japan, USA, England, Scotland, Denmark, Vietnam, Singapore, Belgium and New Zealand – made available alongside beer-inspired eats, live music and activities for all to enjoy!
Tiffin adds to the hype and excitement for this year’s Better Beer Festival with Chowdown, offering a wide range of beer-inspired foods.
Satisfy your sweet cravings with The Ice Cream Bar’s beer sorbet and ice creams, tuck into Cantina Modema’s savoury ale fondue mac & cheese and porter braised brisket, Shucked’s laksa mussels, clams and sashimi, Bacon It’s bourbon cream cheese chocolate cupcakes, and other delicious treats from Fiercer and Bakarlah.

Get your Better Beer Starter Pack for RM60 (early bird) and RM70 (regular price), and get a collectible festival glass, a welcome beer, three craft beer tasters and three sampler-sized foods. For the just-dropping-by and curious folks, access to the beer garden and live music performances is free.
Warm up to the world of craft beers through Meet-The-Brewers session on Friday (7 October) 8pm to 9pm and Saturday (8 October) 5pm to 6pm at White Box, and enjoy chatting all things beer with Youichi Kiuchi from Hitachino Nest Beer (Japan), John Reid from Pasteur Street Brewing Company (Vietnam), Dave Ong from 2 Brothers Brewery and Mazen Hajjar from Hawkers Beer (Australia).

We seized the chance to try beers from Hitachino and Pasteur Street, and we loved them! Brewed with fresh coconuts and roasted malts, the Toasted Coconut Porter from Pasteur Street has a rich aroma and flavour that balances the taste of roasted malt. My favourite was the Red Rice Ale from Hitachino; the scent of the red rice is a pleasant contrast to the typical sharp, sour scent normal beers have. I love the light fruity taste this pretty rose coloured drink has.

So whether you’re a true beer geek or just into beer, the Beer Appreciation Session on Saturday (8 October) 12.30pm to 1.30pm is a great opportunity for you to get hands-on learning experience about craft beer. Tickets are available at RM60 per person and seats are limited to 20 pax, so secure your spot early!
Tickets for the Better Beer Festival 2016 and Beer Appreciation Session are available starting 29 August at: https://betterbeerfest16.eventbrite.com
