D'Legends is no stranger to the TTDI neighbourhood. It is a regular watering hole for residents. It is known for its floor-to-ceiling posters of legends. In a recent revamp, the bar now boasts new lighting and a ventilation system that allows for better airflow. But more than just that, their new menu is something worth making it your regular go-to place for dinner and drinks.
They also boast the perfect serve of Guinness and Tiger. In fact, the Tiger pour is award-winning. For someone who doesn't fancy beer, I could tell the difference and actually enjoyed every drop of Tiger I had.
Of course, like all drinking sessions, it is best when paired with amazing beer food. We got to try the chicken tikka. The beautifully marinated chicken carried a strong spicy flavour and packed a punch, which was perfect for having with beer.
But it almost paled in comparison to the next starter we had (but not really...) - the pork belly rendang. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing this dish is. As soon as I put it in my mouth, the exact definition of mouth-watering was made known to me like I had never known before. It had me salivating for more and I easily polished off the entire serving by myself, almost reluctant to share it with my dining partners.
The curry leaf prawns were also in a class of its own. Their take on the kam heong prawns were to die for and if you're coming here for a bite, I would recommend having this with a steaming bowl of white rice. The chefs executed the prawns perfectly and it wasn't overcooked at all.
D'Legends have specials of the day, so if you are ever there and have the chance to try their schnitzel, please do. It may look like a huge portion, but trust me, you will not want to share this with anyone. (I believe the underlying theme of the food here at D'Legends promotes selfishness, oops, sorry not sorry.)
If you feel like having breakfast for dinner, then the English Breakfast Pizza will not disappoint. What better way to enjoy a few drinks than to have it with a breakfast pizza? There is just something about turning something so pure like a full English breakfast into something dark and sinful like the pizza version of it, that makes me feel happy inside.
Otherwise, pair your alcoholic drinks with their amazing Brida burger, which is their take on a classic cheeseburger. The garlic aioli is perfect with their legendary handcut fries. You will get exactly 12 expertly cut, lovingly crafted fries with this burger. Savour each and every one of them and don't share, because you will definitely want more. But if you're being kind and want to share your fries with someone, you can always order more fries as an additional side.
End your meal at D'Legends with an in-house made chocolate brownie with cream and bacon. Seriously, there is no better pairing than chocolate and candied bacon. There is no doubt that I will be back here again for the food and drinks.
