We are back at Rang Mahal as Chef Milind Sovani serves up an exquisite gastronomical journey though modern interpretation of Indian Cuisine. We started off with these two drink coolers Himalayan which comprises pineapple, apple and mint (left) and Karma Sutra (right) with fresh passion fruit pulp and plum. Both these drinks are priced at $14 on the a la carte menu. An Amouse Bouche also known as an appetiser is usually served at the beginning of the meal to tantalise the palate of the diner. New cakes & revamped menu @ Antoinette

Fashion and food are a two of my favourite things. I was so excited when I heard the launch of Antoinette's selection of couture cakes this season. Antoinette has always been famous for its creative and beautiful aesthetic cakes. Inspired by world renowned designers such as Coco Chanel and Issey Miyake, fashionistas and foodies alike are in for a treat! The first cake I tried was the "Chocolat No.5" (pictured on the left), inspired by the iconic Chanel No. 5 perfume, this chocolate cake was one of my favourite among the whole couture collection. Dressed with a gold crumble for a classy finish, I found this cake crunchy and not too sweet. Next I had "Nude"(pictured on the top), probably the m

Pang’s Hakka Delicacies @ Antoinette, Penhas Road

With the ushering of this year’s Mid-autumn festival, Antoinette’s Award-Winning Chef Pang Kok Keong has launched Pang’s Hakka Delicacies, a brand new concept that serves up delicious, authentic Hakka cuisine. Chef Pang has spent years researching on traditional Hakka cuisine and we got to try some of his creations. Do note however, these dishes are all only available for takeaway. So you would need to call to order and drop by to collect your food. Our personal favourite from the bunch was definitely the homemade Mee Tai Mak ($6 for 250g, $23 for 1kg), which is a dish made from rice flour noodles. It was simply fantastic, because as you feast on it, you will experience a unique fragrance th

D9 Cakery @ Hilton Singapore, Orchard Road

Rejoice fellow cake lovers! The D9 Cakery in Hilton Singapore is introducing a range of new cakes and sweets that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Before we move on to the food, let me tell you a little about the brains (and beauty) behind these amazing cake creations – Hilton’s executive pastry chef Cindy Khoo. We manged to have a chat with Chef Cindy and she said that she got the inspiration for her cake creations from the two cities closest to her heart (and creates some of the best desserts in the world) – Paris and Tokyo. With this, expect a nice fusion between some western and eastern influences in her new cakes. The cakes costs about $10+ per slice, while a whole cake will set you

New menu at Upper Place @ Wangz Hotel, Outram Park

We are back again at the Upper Place in Wangz Hotel to savour some of Chef William’s gastronomic creations in a few new additions to the menu. The last time we were here, we were so impressed and was at total awe with the food here that we knew that we were going to be blown away once again here. Jumping straight into the food, we had the Pumpkin Soup ($14) to start and just looking at it, it was quite interesting with the papadum on top of it. Who would’ve thought that papadum would go so well with soup?! The pumpkin soup was made with yogurt, cumin and some basil oil, giving it a good blend of Asian flavours. We also tried the Crab Cake ($24), which I thought was one of the best crab cakes

Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncakes @ Antoinette

Mid-Autumn Festival, or commonly known as mooncake festival, is just around the corner. And as its latter name suggests, it’s a festival where people gather to eat mooncake. Singapore has been quite creative with its mooncake recipes over the past few years and Antoinette’s Chef Pang Kok Keong is not one to miss out on showcasing his creativity during this festive season. Making its brand-new entrance is the Salted Yolk Hae Bee Hiam (available in a box of 4 for $60+). Done in the traditional baked skin form, this mooncake boasts the traditional salted egg yolk centre, but mixed with homemade hae bee hiam (or spicy prawn paste). This is all encased within a creamy low-sugar while lotus paste

Mid-Summer Menu @ Kushikatsu Tanaka, Clarke Quay

Japan's Largest kushikatsu chain restaurant has just released a mid-summer menu in Singapore's downtown area bustling in Clarke Quay. There is an outdoor area at the entrance of the restaurant, perfect to chill while enjoying the late evening breeze (when there is one)! The indoor interior is very simplistic and comfortable with wooden interiors. It almost feels like you've just stepped into a cosy restaurant in Japan. It was a rather warm day when I went to Kushikatsu Tanaka, so I started off with the limited-edition Pineapple Tsukekami Highball ($6) which was certainly refreshing and was what i just needed to cool down from the heat. This mid-summer menu promotion comes with a range of dee

Greyhound Cafe, Mid Valley KL

Greyhound Cafe has landed in KL! Originally from Bangkok, Greyhound Cafe is famous in Thailand for mixing local traditional Thai dishes with a tad bit of modern flare. There are currently two outlets in Malaysia, with one in Mid Valley and the other in Jalan Bukit Bintang. We started off with their famous Fried Chicken Wings (RM18). This is not your average way of eating fried chicken wings as they had their wings split into half, thus making it more crunchy. We had a fun experience with our main course, which is their signature Complicated Noodle (RM26), or basically a "D.I.Y" noodle kit. The way to have this is to take a sheet or two of noodle, a spoonful of minced chicken(which was very f

These precious truffles hail from Australia, where they are carefully harvested during the winter ensuring quality and freshness from farm to your table. The truffle menu consists of four innovative dishes. First up, I tried the Jerusalem Artichoke Veloute ($19). This dish has a soup-like consistency and is made with black truffle espuma, cream of root vegetables and a slice of bread. The moment this dish was placed on the table, I could smell the strong truffle aroma. Overall, I did enjoy this dish as it was just cooked to perfection. Next, I tried the 62 Deg

National Day in Singapore is right around the corner and in conjunction with the city state’s 53rd birthday, Grains & Hops in YOTEL is bringing you a special menu that features a quirky play on some local favourites. These dishes are the brainchild of Chef Mark, who was inspired to create these dishes when he was overseas for a while and missing the food back home. These dishes will only be available till 31 August 2018, so don't wait too long! First up, we tried the Oyster Omelette Cracker ($13++).
